I don’t think you’re like me when it comes to marriage proposals. By that I mean that I look at every marriage proposal in the news and analyze it to see what was good about it, bad about it, how interesting it was, who was involved, was it public, or private, etc. One thing that I’ve been noticing that has been happening recently is there have been several wedding proposals in the news that have involved some kind of fear instilled during the proposal process.
One such proposal that you may have heard about involved a guy from Russia faking his own death only to spring back to life to propose to his girlfriend. You can read the full story here .
Yet another proposal involved a pilot pretending there was engine trouble while him and his girlfriend were in the plane he was flying. Another article talks about how he had her read the manual that was actually a marriage proposal.
We even had a guy ask us about using a fake police officer to arrest his girlfriend only to later learn that it was part of a marriage proposal. These types of things have the potential to go drastically wrong because your girlfriend could have a panic attack, call the real authorities, or just be left with a bad memory of the whole situation. She may even say ‘No’ to your proposal because of it.
Fear is NOT Good in a Marriage Proposal
Don’t get me wrong, I love marriage proposals that incorporate new and innovative things. But maybe it’s just the old-school part of me but I don’t think instilling fear into your partner before you propose is a good idea.

These classic tips involve romance, sentimental touches, and the elements that make your girlfriend and your relationship tick. It’s the elements that create anticipation at the moment when you’re on bended knee and proposing. These touches will never go out of style.
Though new and innovative proposal ideas are being proliferated on YouTube and other social media lately, it doesn’t mean that that type of idea would be good for your relationship. Just imagine being half scared to death only to find that you were being proposed to make that person a partner for the rest of your life; wouldn’t that freak you out! It would freak me out. I second this article, simply because it’s quite unfair to shock a loved one to an extreme, only to give your proposal an edge. It’s rather a miscalculated touch to the all time romantic feel of a marriage proposal moment. If any one of you out there still feels that such a method is likely to bring you a laugh and optimistically a ‘YES’. Then think again. Let me add one thing here, women dream of their moment of proposal all their lives. They think of what it would be like, what the venue would be, how the person would have a certain gleam in his eyes and so on. Now, do you really believe such a woman would like having a practical joke played with her for a proposal? I’m sure she wouldn’t. Well, the provided link sure does have a few remarkable options for a person to choose from, to make that special moment worth her while!
Very good points! Thanks for the comment.
