Day 1: The Proposal

Yes, you heard me right, a Surprise Proposal With Surprise Wedding!  We had the absolute honor of working with Bryan as he planned his surprise proposal on Monday and a surprise wedding on Tuesday!  I do grow fond of a lot of my clients, but I have to say, I fell head over heels with my client, his now wife, and his entire family through this process.  Bryan and Heather came to California from Texas for a vacation.  On a beautiful Monday evening, they went out for dinner at the Malibu Beach Inn.  Little did Heather know, that directly underneath her feet, The Heart Bandits team was setting up her dream proposal.

After the meal, Bryan excused himself and I snuck him down to the beach.  We delivered a card to Heather that said, “Come Away With Me….” and had her escorted down to the beach area where Bryan awaited.  A guitarist played “Come Away With Me” by Norah Jones and Heather walked down an aisle made up of candles, lanterns, and her favorite Calla Lily flower.  Bryan proposed and Heather said yes…..but the best was still in store.

Day 2: The Wedding

I arrived at the home that Bryan rented out in Malibu to set up and meet his entire family.  That’s right….Bryan arranged for his family and Heather’s family to travel out to California without Heather knowing it, for her surprise wedding!  This is when I learned that these were special people I was working with, so warm and inviting that I literally missed them for days after the event!  We arranged for them to all be transported to the beach where we met the proposal photographer, videographer, officiant, and violinist.  The beach has strict rules about any set up, but I couldn’t let Heather walk down the aisle with no decor, so Butterfly Floral & Event Design brought my vision to life, creating an aisle made with flowers and crystals that the family would hold.

Now the best part, Heather and Bryan walk down to the beach and as she turns the corner, she can’t believe her eyes.  Her entire family, including her son, all on the beach, and her surprise wedding unveiling before her eyes.  Her reaction was priceless and she stood there, before her family and friends, as the waves of the Pacific Ocean crashed against the rocks, and took Bryan to be her husband for all eternity.  We couldn’t be more happy for such a genuine and kind couple and we are honored to have been a part of this day.  We even had this featured in the Huffington Post!
