Today’s Romance Tip of The Week is actually very simple and it’s something that every guy can do with their girl every single time they eat. It’s something that I didn’t realize until not too long ago but since then have managed to do this simple romantic gesture. It is sitting next to your girl whenever you eat! Very simple like I said and doesn’t require hours of planning. Next time you’re at a restaurant and you’re seated at a table with a booth, instead of sitting directly across from her, try scooting up directly next to her.
Now what are the advantages of this? Well first of all, you are physically closer to your girlfriend or wife so you give her a sense of protection. This is very similar to how you’re supposed to walk along the side closest to the street when you’re walking with a woman (Don’t worry, we’ll explain that tip in another Romance Tip Of The Week for all you romantic duds out there). Second of all, while sitting next to her you can put your arm around her if she’s cold or rest your hand on her leg to show her affection. You will be able to engage in conversation just as if you were directly across from her but now it would feel more personal. You can look at menu items together off the same menu and when you eat, you can share things without having to worry about dropping a piece of lasagna into your water. Like I said, it’s very simple but it’s a very good romantic gesture that many guys don’t know about.
So what happens when you’re not in a table with a booth? Are you ready for this? Again, very simple. Instead of sitting directly across from her, sit on the chair that is closest to her. You will still be very physically close to her and it will give you the opportunity to be more engaged in conversation with her. Don’t forget about the rest of your tables manners either. You do NOT want to immediately start eating if you get your food before her. Please wait for her. If she’s starving, then offer her to share in your dish. Don’t worry, it’s not rude of her to want to eat at the same time as you. You’ll survive.
