At the office, when we hear the beautiful engagement stories of those who serve in the nation’s military, it always makes our hearts a-flutter. These people sacrifice so much to serve our country; you can’t help but to be happy to know that their dreams are coming true too! Here are some of our favorite military proposal stories:
White House Romance
Now here is a brave and wonderful couple! In December of 2012 a US Marine made the first-ever same-sex proposal in the White House. They were just following the cute idea of proposing at your first-date location, but not many people have a first date at the White House! The LGBT Pride Month reception, to be precise. Having been public about their sexuality and open critics of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, the idea of proposing in public wasn’t a fear. But they didn’t expect their heartwarming engagement to go viral!

Picture Perfect
A National Guardsman spent months while abroad planning his proposal to his girlfriend. When he arrived home in Iowa after six months away, there were plenty of hugs, kisses, and pictures to go around. But one picture was carefully planned. While he posed with his girlfriend and mother for a photo, two guys unfold a banner behind them asking that all-important question. The girlfriend checks the picture, sees the unexpected background, and then is stunned to discover her boyfriend on his knee!
Long-Distance Proposal
One soldier wasn’t about to let his deployment ruin his proposal plans! His girlfriend thought she had won a raffle by Robbins Brothers, but there was a bigger surprise waiting. When she arrived at the store, she was greeted by a video of her boyfriend in Iraq, down on one knee and asking for her hand in marriage. While he couldn’t present the ring himself, the Robbins Brothers employee was ready and waiting with a ring just for her. She just had to wait a bit for that engagement first-kiss!
