It isn’t quite summer yet but spring is here, and love is in the air. The weather is finally starting to clear up, and it’s time to start venturing outdoors again after a winter cooped up. Here are three sweet springtime proposal ideas, perfect for a warm June day.

Tiptoe through the Tulips

This is the prime time for tulip viewing, and if you live anywhere near a tulip farm, this is an opportunity you can’t pass up. Most tulip farms feature fields of blooms stretching to the horizon, and many have walking paths, hayrides or bike routes to allow you to tour the farm. Call early in the season to make sure you pick a day when the blooms are at their best, but the crowds are at a minimum. A photographer is a must-have for this proposal location, and a photo of you two together in a field of vivid blossoms will make a wonderful engagement announcement.

Singing (or just walking) in the Rain

Even though it’s no longer snowing and the ice has melted off of the sidewalks, the weather still isn’t summery and perfect. This is something you can use to your advantage- either with a rain-based proposal, or simply by using the opportunity to go to a location or an event that would normally be too crowded and impersonal in the summer. National parks, hiking trails, and even city streets and landmarks can become private and intimate when there are only two people there, huddled under an umbrella together.

Strawberry Fields Forever

With spring come the first fruits of summer, most notably strawberries. If you live in a berry-growing state such as California or Oregon, early spring is the time when the berries in the fields start to ripen and the you-pick farms open for business. With a little planning, a berry-picking picnic in the country could turn into a rustic and wonderful proposal.

Of course, picking the venue is only the first step in planning your proposal. Make sure to arrange for a photographer or videographer, and to make plans for other personal touches- music, food, flowers, friends and family.
