One thing you may know know about The Heart Bandits is that Marvin and I are avid Crossfitters. That’s right, we can clean and jerk with the best of em! Crossfit is an amazing community and we all stick together which is why we couldn’t help but be giddy when we saw this proposal go viral.
JP and Amanda met at the 5:30 AM session at their local Crossfit gym, and as their romance blossomed, they maintained a solid workout regime that had them at the gym several times a week, including Saturday mornings. It was at one of these Saturday sessions that JP made his carefully planned move- he had arranged ahead of time to add a ferocious seven-minute block of punishing burpees, Amanda’s least favorite exercise, to the schedule.
Just a few minutes into the burpees, however, the music stopped and was replaced by the song “Marry You.” As the whole group froze, JP jumped up and executed an admirably choreographed- and adorable- dance routine to the song, finally presenting her with a gorgeous ring. She tearfully accepted his proposal, and the whole workout came to a halt as everyone came forward to offer their congratulations.
This is a wonderful example of a well-planned marriage proposal. It takes a mutual passion that ties the couple together, and brings it into the proposal in a way that underscores their connectedness. It’s cute, and funny, and will make a wonderful story to tell for many years to come.
Hijacking a group workout is not the only way to incorporate physical fitness into a proposal, either. If you have a home gym, consider redecorating it into a proposal paradise with flowers and decorations, for a sweet surprise when she goes in for her next workout. They have the expertise to help you craft the perfect proposal idea for your sweetheart and your shared passions, whatever they may be.
