Multnomah Falls

If you are planning to propose to a nature lover, then a hike up to the top of Multnomah Falls may be just the ticket. The trail is well paved and winds through a beautiful temperate rainforest. International Rose Test Garden

There’s a reason that Portland is called the City of Roses. The International Rose Test Garden is located in Portland’s Washington Park, the largest urban park in the United States. For best effect, sweep your sweetheart off her feet with a rose garden proposal in early June, when all 550 varieties of roses will be blooming. Don’t be put off by the public nature of the garden either- there are numerous small niches and enclosed gardens tucked into the rose garden where you can find a private moment to go down on one knee.

Mt. Hood

This snowy peak is ideal for a winter proposal. If your girl is a ski enthusiast or a hiker, then you will find the perfect moment out on the slopes or the numerous trails that wind over the mountain. If you would rather find somewhere to cozy up for a warm fire lit evening and a cozy, private proposal, consider renting room at the historic Timberline Lodge.

Willamette Valley Wineries

While France may be more luxurious and Napa may be more well known, wine lovers will rejoice in the Willamette Valley. Home to more than 300 wineries, the fertile soil of the valley has produced some of the northwest’s best wines over the last century. Some, such as Red Ridge Farms in Dayton, Oregon even offer lodging on site in rustic but luxurious cottages. Give your true love the ideal day with wine, good food, and gorgeous scenery before taking her aside to propose.
