A Romantic New York City Proposal

The Story

Paul met Paola through mutual friends in Malibu. Even though they met in a sunny, West Coast vibe, they bonded over her Colombian heritage. Once Paul knew she was the one, he wanted his proposal to be romantic, colorful, and over-the-top. As a hardworking actress in Colombia, Paul knew Paola enjoyed the simple things–meditation, yoga, butterflies, and quality time with her son. For this reason, Paul worked with The Heart Bandits to make sure his NYC proposal was magical, yet simplistic to match her personality and love language.

The Proposal

As Paola and her son walked into the breathtaking New York City venue on the night of their proposal, her eyes filled with excitement and surprise. She saw glittering views of the NYC skyline and luscious arrangements of bright fuchsia and magenta flowers combined with her favorite thing: butterflies.

Next, she noticed Paul had intimate signs displayed throughout the venue in her native language. Finally, she was blown away that he also wrote a letter to her nine-year-old son that he handed him as they walked into the room.

When the moment was right, Paul got down on one knee as a duo of cello players strummed romantic music in the background. Overcome with emotion, Paola said “yes” and embraced Paul and her son as they began their new life together.

With a celebratory champagne toast, they spent time overlooking the New York City skyline and reflecting on their beautiful love story. In other words, they lived happily ever after.
