Throughout our marriage proposal planning experience, we’ve had many people have only have a small window of time to propose. This small window may be because they are only visiting for a few days, their partner is leaving soon, or an important date is coming up. Inclement weather has sometimes played a role in those cases and they have had to find a way to keep their proposal ideas from becoming a disaster.
In a way, this is a very romantic gesture because you’re showing that nothing will stand in the way of your marriage proposal. At the same time, this creates A LOT of stress because the weather can change what you can accomplish. For that reason, here are three ideas for how to propose when bad weather might occur.
Propose Indoors with Candles
This may happen out of necessity, but being indoors with candles is romantic. As a backup, keep some candles in stock near proposal time. If you are planning on proposing and the weather is unbearable, make the best out of the situation by aligning your candles in a romantic way. Bring your partner in, profess your love, and propose. It will be a uniting experience because of the outside circumstances.
Propose in the Rain
If you really wanted to propose outdoors and it’s raining, the rain is romantic as well. Just only go outside if it’s safe and there haven’t been any warnings to stay inside. If it’s safe enough, take your partner outside and run around in the rain. Find a location where you can still have a view, pause, and tell her that you can’t live without her. Have those gorgeous clear umbrellas on hand just in case. It will be like those dramatic movie endings in the rain.
Propose While Using The Snow
If the weather has dropped a lot of snow, then take a few minutes while your partner is away and carve out something in the snow. This could either be a phrase asking her to marry you or you can even make a snowman that symbolizes your engagement. Marry me marquee lights would also stand out in the snow.
