Santa Ynez Valley
This valley is full of rolling hills and rich green pastures, and the climate has proven perfect for vineyards. The beautiful scenery and the many opportunities to taste the wines of the region make this a perfect place for a road trip, stopping at each destination until you reach the spot you’ve picked for your proposal.
This valley is not too far from San Diego, making it an easy jaunt if you live near Palm Springs or Orange County. The charm of this region lies in the easy proximity of the wineries, making it a breeze to saunter from one to another. For a romantic touch, take advantage of a horse drawn winery tour and travel across the countryside in 19th century style.
Sonoma Valley has a rustic charm with a distinctly individual flair. An easy way to get to know the region’s wine is to visit one of the many co-op tasting rooms set up throughout the area, but don’t make the mistake of ignoring the other charms of the valley. Bicycling tours and hot ballooning are popular pastimes for visitors, and the town of Sonoma offers charming old-world architecture and an array of shops and restaurants to keep you both busy, or to distract your sweetheart while put the final touches on the perfect proposal.
