As Proposal Planners at The Heart Bandits, of course we have noticed that Flash Mob marriage proposals are a huge trend right now.  I am sure you saw the one in Central Park that was oh-so-adorable.  You probably saw Howie Mandel’s Mobbed proposal which was entertaining but weird since they made the girl cry in the proposal.  The latest Flash Mob proposal comes from South Africa in one of the biggest public malls.

Random people in the food court start singing The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love,” which is a scene from the movie “Love Actually.” As a crowd starts forming to watch, the mob starts dancing and singing. They eventually grab the girl who, unbeknown to her is now participating in her own proposal.  She finally turns around to see her boyfriend coming down the escalator, and realizes what’s happening.  See the proposal below.

We love a well orchestrated public proposal.  While Flash Mobs are getting a little played out, if done properly, it can still be amazing.  What we like about this proposal is that it had a huge group that was big enough to create a scene.  We also like that the singers and dancers were very talented.  Most importantly, it seemed that the proposer had a plan and that it was executed which is always a plus.

What we don’t like about this proposal is that it was done in a food court.  A Flash Mob has to be done in public in order to give the desired effect.  But a food court in a mall is not ideal.  We recommend more scenic locations for a marriage proposal such as the beach, a beautiful park, or really amazing restaurant.  On the anniversary of your proposal it will be much more romantic to celebrate at one of these locations than it would be to go back to the food court.

The Heart Bandits have a lot of experience planning Flash Mobs and other public marriage proposals.  Hire a Proposal Planner and you will have the perfect proposal without any of the stress.  Contact us today to find out how we can help.
