summer-marriage-proposal

Summer is not over yet so if you are planning your summer marriage proposal, you have to read our Essential Guide to Summer Proposals!  Summer proposals are special because there are many more possible locations and imaginative ways that you can propose – mostly because the weather is usually cooperative.  Here are the top 4 reasons to propose during the summer months:

The Golden Hour

Summer proposals are perfect because not only can you propose any time of day – but the natural lighting makes for phenomenal proposal photography.  The best proposal photos usually happen during what photographers call “The Golden Hour” – an hour after sunrise, and an hour before sunset.  The duration can last for more than an hour, but the term has stuck.  If you time your proposal to fall within that special time, you will get stunning photographs that may not even need touch-ups.

Water Works

Beaches, lakes, ponds, rivers, waterfalls – the choices are endless in summer.  If you want to propose near or on water – summer is the best time to do that.  Just be aware that the heat of summer draws lots of people to the water and privacy may be an issue if you aren’t careful and plan ahead.  If you want to rent a boat, do it at least 3 months ahead of time, and be sure to check up on your reservation at regular intervals to ensure that everything is ready.  Check out our beach proposal packages here.

Tune Up

No, we’re not talking about your car! Summer is a great time for music festivals, outdoor concerts, and seeing your favorite musician’s show.  There are more musical events during summer than any other time of year and if music is a shared passion with your partner, proposing after seeing a concert might be perfect.  Seeing a band or concert can be an excellent warm-up to the main event – your proposal!  Just be sure that you don’t propose during the show with loud music blaring – make sure your proposal is intimate and your partner hears every word that you speak.  Conversely, you can always hire a musician to serenade your partner if a crowded venue isn’t what you envision. Music always helps set a mood!

Regardless of when you propose you should always provide your partner with a phenomenal proposal experience.  Surprise your partner by using a non-traditional ring box like the flat engagement ring box from www.ringstash.com.  The slim design easily allows for the ring to be hidden, and your partner won’t suspect an imminent proposal until you’re ready to pop the question.
