The Heart Bandits Proposal Planners were contacted by a very laid back guy named Terence from Canada who needed help on how to propose to his girlfriend.  His girlfriend Emily had already picked out the ring so she knew a proposal was coming, but he wanted to catch her off guard and surprise her.  They were going to be flying to Los Angeles the following weekend and he really wanted to take advantage of being out here and doing something very “LA”.  He had asked us about possibly proposing using the Hollywood sign so we suggested an even better marriage proposal idea.

We suggested that Terence take Emily on a private horseback riding tour with Sunset Ranch in Griffith Park.  Those of you familiar with Hollywood know that the views of the city from Griffith Park are amazing. There are views of the entire city, the Griffith Observatory, and the Hollywood sign.  Our plan was that Emily would just think that she is going on a typical horseback riding adventure but when she got to Mt. Hollywood, the highest point with the best views, she would get off of her horse and she and Terence would take in the extraordinary views.  She would then walk towards the area with a view of the Hollywood sign where she would see a private picnic set up just for her.  This is where Terence would propose.

Terence loved our marriage proposal concept, and The Heart Bandits went to work immediately to plan his proposal.  We reserved a private horseback riding tour with Sunset Ranch in Hollywood.  When Emily and Terence arrived at the top of Mt. Hollywood they walked around and took pictures of the view.  Then they walked back down and that is when Emily saw a pink blanket (her favorite color) and a sign that said “Bunniee” which is Terence’s nickname for her.

We were hiding out so we could take some pictures and we heard Emily squeal, “Is this for me?”  It was adorable. Terence told her that all of this was just part of the package he had purchased with Sunset Ranch.  He had requested that we have the world famous In N’ Out burgers and Sprinkles cupcakes along with Martinelli’s Cider as part of their picnic.

The couple enjoyed their lunch and the view.  Then he told her he had just one more surprise for her.  He went up to the sign and turned it around to reveal the words, “Will you marry me?”  She screamed yes and leaned into him and gave him a kiss.  It was truly beautiful and a romantic engagement proposal.  Terence said his proposal was like it was right out of the movies.  We agree!  Congratulations Terence and Emily.  May you have a lifetime of happiness.
