Ernesto came to us because he knew in his mind what a dream proposal would look like to his girlfriend Chelsey, he just needed help pulling it all together. His vision was to have a gorgeous tree lit up with fairy lights and glass bulbs hanging from the branches. He wanted a musician playing their songs and a photographer to capture it all. And most of all, he wanted his family to join in after Chelsey said yes. We happily took on the proposal and got right to looking for a venue that would allow us to decorate trees (a big no-no for many places). We were lucky to find Hacienda Golf Club, which conveniently was right by his home making it easy for all his family to join.
We wanted to add some flare to the proposal so we opted for a string duo which we surrounded by baby’s breath in gold vases, discovered while secretly stalking her Pinterest page. To enhance the tree and make it look as magical as possible, we brought in a professional lighting company to hang fairy lights and ambient lighting. We arranged for the family to be brought in by golf carts to the other side of the hill so they could watch the proposal from afar. Then, we all sat behind bushes hiding, waiting in the freezing (50 degrees is freezing to us in LA ok?) cold for the couple to arrive. It was so worth it.
The day Ernesto proposed was actually their anniversary. Ernesto told Chelsey that he signed them up for wine tasting on the golf course for their date. When they pulled up to the gorgeous tree, the string duo started playing “All of Me,” by John Legend. Chelsey said, “That’s our song!” She totally thought it was just a very elaborate wine tasting date. Until Ernesto took her by the hand and explained why she was really there. He proposed and she happily said yes. Then, the entire family walked out to have a champagne toast and congratulate the couple. Congrats Ernesto and Chelsey!
