Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only two days away?! I can’t believe that it’s come so fast. I for one do love Thanksgiving because you totally have an excuse to get your grub on and not feel bad. Also spending time with family is always nice to have as well and let’s not forget the days off you’re getting from work.

During this time, we’re actually in the midst of proposal season so I’m sure that there are guys out there that are thinking about proposing during Thanksgiving break. Though they may not propose on actual Thanksgiving, chances are that family will be around anyway. For that reason, for today’s post I will be providing some proposal ideas for family gatherings that you can use during this break if you want to have a sentimental and memorable marriage proposal.

Have Family Appear After the Proposal to Celebrate

If you’re not sure how to have the perfect proposal with family involved but are still not quite sure they should be involved in the first place, then you may want to just have them there for after it. Consider this, you tell your girlfriend to meet you at your place at a certain time thinking you’re going to be heading somewhere. When she arrives, your apartment is beautifully and romantically decorated with candles, roses, pictures of you two, and soft music. You propose to her when she sees this arrangement. Once she says yes, then her family will pop out from another room to surprise her and then you all can celebrate together.

Have Family Be In On The Surprise

If you do want family to be actively involved in the proposal, then a very good idea is to actually let them in on the surprise. You and your family create a backstory that you tell your girlfriend. This could be anything from throwing her off about where you’re going, who’s going to be there, etc. The fact that her family is helping out, will make it more believable that nothing out of the ordinary is happening and will thus create a truly surprise proposal.

Have Family Involved that Can’t be Physically There

I recently saw a very unique proposal that a guy did for his girlfriend and I think many other people can do. The guy used a large screen to “video conference” his girlfriend’s family in so he could propose in front of them. The girl loved this because she really missed her family and they couldn’t be there. You can do something similar even if you don’t have access to video conference. You can simply use a smart phone or Skype and have it on at the right time when you’re proposing so they can all watch.
