Marriage Proposal in South Africa Featuring “All You Need is Love”

As Proposal Planners at The Heart Bandits, of course we have noticed that Flash Mob marriage proposals are a huge trend right now.  I am sure you saw the one in Central Park that was oh-so-adorable.  You probably saw Howie Mandel’s Mobbed proposal which was entertaining but weird since they made the girl cry in the proposal.  The latest Flash Mob proposal comes from South Africa in one of the biggest public malls.

Random people in the food court start singing The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love,” which is a scene from the movie “Love Actually.” As a crowd starts forming to watch, the mob starts dancing and singing. They eventually grab the girl who, unbeknown to her is now participating in her own proposal.  She finally turns around to see her boyfriend coming down the escalator, and realizes what’s happening.  See the proposal below.

We love a well orchestrated public proposal.  While Flash Mobs are getting a little played out, if done properly, it can still be amazing.  What we like about this proposal is that it had a huge group that was big enough to create a scene.  We also like that the singers and dancers were very talented.  Most importantly, it seemed that the proposer had a plan and that it was executed which is always a plus.

What we don’t like about this proposal is that it was done in a food court.  A Flash Mob has to be done in public in order to give the desired effect.  But a food court in a mall is not ideal.  We recommend more scenic locations for a marriage proposal such as the beach, a beautiful park, or really amazing restaurant.  On the anniversary of your proposal it will be much more romantic to celebrate at one of these locations than it would be to go back to the food court.

The Heart Bandits have a lot of experience planning Flash Mobs and other public marriage proposals.  Hire a Proposal Planner and you will have the perfect proposal without any of the stress.  Contact us today to find out how we can help.

Sentimental and Romantic Pennsylvania Marriage Proposal

This past July we were approached by a man in love named Chuck who had an wonderful idea for how to propose to his girlfriend Jill.  Jill works in commercial real estate so he wanted to have her go check out some real estate but when she walked in she would see her own amazing and romantic proposal.  However, Chuck and Jill lived together and he was very busy so he needed some help pulling this off.  He needed a Proposal Planner and that is where The Heart Bandits come in.

Finding a deserted commercial real estate building in the small town of Havertown proved to be challenging.  But Michele and Marvin of The Heart Bandits – Marriage Proposal Planners love a challenge!  They researched all of the businesses in Havertown and found a small art gallery called Thyme Gallery.  The owner Edna was very excited to help out and the location was sealed.  After that Michele hired a Violinist who could play romantic music as well as Michael Jackson since Jill loves him.  Next they got to work making all of the signs and collages that would be necessary to transform the gallery.  The cover story was that Jill’s dad would call Jill and tell her he just bought an expensive piece of artwork and needs her to pick it up at the gallery!  And that is just what she did.

When Jill walked in she quickly realized she was not there to pick up art work.   When she entered she saw a violinist playing music in the corner and 5 tables adorned with her favorite flowers and pictures of her and Chuck. Each table was labeled and represented something special in their relationship.  The first table was “The Beginning” and had pictures and a story of how they first met.  The second table was “Our Adventures” which showed different adventurous things the couple had done together and talked about their shared hobbies.  The third table was “Sweet Love” which had Jill’s favorite candy’s (she has a massive sweet tooth) and pictures of them in love.  The last table was “Our Future”.  While she was viewing the last table, Chuck came out in a suit to propose.  It was truly gorgeous and Jill was very surprised.  The couple sat down at the fifth table to celebrate with some champagne. The Heart Bandits are proud to have planned this proposal!  The pictures say it all!

4th of July Proposal by The Heart Bandits

A recent client came to The Heart Bandits-Proposal Planning Experts on June 9th asking for some wedding proposal help for a 4th of July proposal.  He let us know that she expected the proposal but he still wanted to make it a surprise.  We gave him a lot of ideas on how to propose and here is what he settled on.  Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!

His girlfriend was in town visiting him in Dallas.  He told her he was sorry but he had to work that day so he left her alone at his place.   The limo driver showed up at around 3pm and didn’t tell her anything.  The driver handed her a mid-evil scroll that her boyfriend had made for her which said how he felt about her.   The limo driver had a series of envelopes he handed her along the way till her final destination.  First the driver took her to Northpark Mall where he handed her an envelope and a small red bag which had gold coins for her to use to  purchase a sun dress and sandals.

When she got back in the limo the driver handed an envelope that said “I am sure the dress you picked out is beautiful, but I already accepted you as you are before we even met” .  This phrase meant a lot to the couple.  She was then driven to Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel.  There she was instructed to go to her room and put on her new dress and get ready.   The driver proceeded to take her to  Silver Lake Marina where the boyfriend was waiting for her with a dozen roses. However, he didn’t propose to her there,  he just told her how beautiful she looked and told her that they were meeting a friend.  When the friend came he introduced himself as a Captain and he took them sailing on a yacht.  The Captain opened the door to the cabin and told them to go the room below. The yacht was decorated in her favorite color and purple flowers with nice lighting and jazz music in the background.  They enjoyed their 5 course meal and just after sunset he proposed.  She said YES!

A minute later the fireworks started and they sailed directly under the fireworks so the newly engaged couple could enjoy their moment.

We are so happy we could be a part of this special day.  Hire The Heart Bandits to create your own personalized and unique proposal.  Every girl wants to have a proposal story that no one else has.  We can help!  Contact us today.

Los Angeles Marriage Proposal by The Heart Bandits

A month or so ago we were contacted by a very charismatic man named Lonnie.  He knew he wanted Mel’s proposal to be amazing but he just needed a little help coordinating the event so he hired The Heart Bandits-Wedding Proposal Planners to make sure it all went perfectly.  After narrowing the proposal ideas to one final concept, we decided to send Mel on a scavenger hunt in a limo.  She was sent to Belmont Brewery in Long Beach where the couple had their first date.  There she was given her favorite flower, a pink stargazer, and a lemon drop shot which is her favorite drink.  Next she was driven to Color Me Mine where she went inside to receive another stargazer and a ceramic piece that her sweetie painted for her!  She then was taken to the gorgeous Gateway Plaza Fanfare Fountains in San Pedro.

She stepped out of the limo and we escorted her down the palm tree lined walkway.  She was very confused but excited.  Suddenly, one by one, her friends popped out from behind the palm trees holding signs with messages that Lonnie had created for her!  They said, “He loves you”, “He lives for you”, “You make him happy”, “You are the one”, and “Heart Infinity Squared” which is an inside thing for the couple.

The fountain show was going on in the background and music was playing as if her whole proposal was choreographed to the music.  As she saw each friend pop out holding the signs, tears started to build in her eyes as she knew, this was her moment.

Finally she saw him, the love of her life holding a bouquet of her favorite flowers, ready to make her dreams come true.  He took her by the hand and told her how much she meant to him and then got down on one knee and proposed.

As if meant just for her, at the moment she said yes the fountains shot up to great heights and it just made for a perfect moment.  When she turned around she saw all of her friends holding signs that spelled out “Congratulations.”

From here the group went to celebrate and then the couple took the limo alone to the Sky Room in Long Beach for a celebratory dinner.  Perfect ending to a perfect night.  Congratulations Lonnie and Mel.  We are so happy we could be a part of this amazing day.  Watch the video here.

4th of July Marriage Proposal

So the 4th of July is coming up and I am sure many people are planning on proposing.  My advice is generally not to propose on a holiday.  I think the proposal should be on a day when she won’t expect it and a day that is just about the two of you.  However, if you are set on popping the question this weekend here are some tips:

  1. Don’t do it during the fireworks!  That idea has been done a million times.  Give her a GREAT story to tell when people ask how you proposed. (During the fireworks would only work if it were somehow personalized)
  2. Create a very personalized proposal based on your love story.  The proposal should incorporate something meaningful like how you met or how you fell in love.
  3. Make it private!  The 4th of July is a holiday normally spent with friends and family, but a proposal should be private.  Plan the proposal so that is just the two of you during the special moment and then partake in the festivities after.

If you need help planning the perfect 4th of July proposal, it is not too late.  The Heart Bandits-Proposal Planners can look over your idea and add special touches to it to make sure it is a perfect proposal.  If you know you want to propose but just can’t come up with a unique way to do it, we will solve that problem for you too!  Contact us today for all of your proposal needs.  Also, our clients are always asking us how to hide their bulky engagement ring box on the day they propose.  The answer is, buy a compact engagement ring box!! Ring Stash, www.ringstash.com offers a .5 inch ring box that will help you keep your proposal a secret until you are ready to reveal it.
