Memorable Marriage Proposal in Los Angeles

A couple of months ago, we got the opportunity to meet a very nice guy named Enrique. He had been with his girlfriend Isabelle since 2010 and was very much in love. He wanted a memorable marriage proposal that was personalized and meaningful to their relationship. On their first official date they went to see a concert by Camila, but before they show, they stopped by the Walt Disney Center, where she had a job at back in 2007. For his marriage proposal, Enrique wanted to commemorate both where their relationship first started and the song by Camila that had become “their” song.

Enrique’s wedding proposal plan was set to take place so as to completely surprise Isabelle. He had arranged for Isabelle’s work to be in on the whole thing. She was told to go to a hotel in downtown LA and await a limo to pick her up. As she was picked up she was taken to the entrance of Walt Disney Hall where one of her friends was waiting holding a sign. The sign was the first verse of a love note that Enrique had written her years back. He also gave her a sunflower, which was her favorite flower. She was told to follow a path up the stairs where other friends were waiting with the rest of the verses from his love note and more sunflowers. At the top near the rose fountain, Enrique was waiting for her with a bouquet of sunflowers and the engagement ring where he got on bended knee and proposed. She of course said yes and they were both serenaded by a mariachi trio that sang “their” Camila song. Congrats to Enrique and Isabelle on their beautiful engagement! 10th Wedding Anniversary Gift Ideas

This Friday we are on 10th Wedding Anniversary Gift Ideas.  The traditional 10 year anniversary gift is tin or aluminum.  The modern gift idea is diamonds.  I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that many women would prefer a diamond gift over a tin.  And if nothing else, MARVIN………I prefer a diamond over tin 🙂  In any case, here are some gift ideas that will help you have the perfect anniversary.

Diamond

You really can’t go wrong if you get something with diamonds in it.  Upgrade her engagement ring with a bigger diamond, buy a small band with 10 diamonds in it, get him diamond cuff links, the list goes on and on.

Tin Jewelry Box

If you decide to go with the tin option, a tin jewelry box might be a good option.  Engrave it with something sweet and put some jewelry in it.

Aluminum Wine Cellar

My husband would flip for one of these.  Get your husband or wife an aluminum wine cellar and put 10 bottles of wine in it, one for each year for the next 10 years.

Visit Landmarks

Aniston and Theroux decided to have a romantic dinner at the Eiffel Tower in Paris for a romantic evening.  If you can’t make it to Paris, Google some famous landmarks near your home and arrange for a romantic picnic or dinner there.

Create a Private Dinner and a Movie

You may have heard how Justin Beiber rented out the entire Staples Center for Selena Gomez, just so they could have a private dinner and watch Titanic.  That may be out of your budget, but you could rent out a studio, private dining room, or even just make your home private and do the same thing.  Just pick a better movie!

Go on a Surprise Trip

So you may not be able to jet set over to Barbados like Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey did.  But you can certainly go out of town for a weekend.  Arrange for a Romantic Event Planner to fill your hotel room with hundreds of candles and flowers for a sweet surprise.

How to Have a Destination Proposal

If you’ve been following The Heart Bandits Marriage Proposal Blog, then you know that on Tuesday’s we usually provide wedding proposal ideas for different cities in the US. Today, I thought I’d do something a little different. Many people come to us wondering how to propose marriage when they are on vacation. Not too surprisingly, destination proposals are pretty common so I thought I’d provide some of the reasons it would be a good idea to have such a proposal yourself if you’re thinking about proposing soon.

Scenery

When you go to a new destination, most likely you’re going to check out something that is well known. If you’re going to Europe you may be going to Paris to check out the Eiffel Tower. If you’re going to Bora Bora, you’re going to check out the amazingly clear beaches and resorts. Either way, the destination you’re going to is going to provide you with scenery that most likely you and your partner have never seen together. That alone will make for a great experience together.

Time to Yourselves

When you go on a destination proposal, you are on vacation. This means that you will be away from all the stress you have back home. You have lots of quality time with your partner. As hard as it might be, do yourself a favor and turn off your smart phones while you’re on vacation to avoid taking calls and checking emails. This trip is about you and your loved one.

Special Memory Created in a Special Place

If you propose at a new destination, then that means that this place will always hold a special place in your heart. The exact location will be endeared in your heart and if you ever visit it down the road, you will always be reminded of it and it will bring you back to the amazing time you had.

Easier to Pull Off Surprise

People always worry that if they take their partners on a vacation, then it will be obvious that they are going to propose. Sure, your partner may suspect it but there are some very simple and also clever ways to pull off a complete surprise. As proposal planners, we can give you the best ways to do that.

Destination proposals have a lot of moving parts so there’s a chance they could get stressful. That is why it’s best to hire a proposal planner to help you throughout the process. If you’re thinking about proposing marriage soon we can help. We know the best places to propose and can help you personalize your proposal to make it unique to your relationship. Contact us today to get started on making your dream proposal concept become reality.

Romantic Marriage Proposal by The Heart Bandits

We are so excited to share with you a super romantic marriage proposal that we created for Simon.  Simon called us from Canada and needed us to put together a really sweet proposal for his girlfriend Sandra.  Together we created this very romantic moment.  Here is how it happened:

Simon and Sandra enjoy lunch

Simon and Sandra enjoyed lunch together at a very swanky restaurant in Beverly Hills.  Simon excused himself to the restroom and the waiter delivered a key to Sandra with a note attached. The note instructed Sandra to go upstairs where she would find a box that only that key could open.  She was completely blown away when she found a candlelit room decorated with her favorite flowers and a violinist playing romantic music.  In the middle of the room was a table with a box in the middle.  She sat down at the table and begin reading memories that Simon had put into the box.  As she got to the last note, Simon came in and surprised her with a very romantic marriage proposal. Enjoy the photos provided by Chloe Moore Photography and contact us to get started creating your amazing proposal.  Flowers were provided by Butterfly Floral Design.  We love this Beverly Hills proposal.

Key and box containing Simon’s love notes

Congrats Simon and Sandra

Fireworks in Marriage Proposals

4th of July was great!  Marvin and I worked on some fun proposals and also ate way too much.  This year we got multiple requests for incorporating fireworks to create an amazing marriage proposal.  Of course fireworks would make an amazing grand finale to a proposal, but they just aren’t a quick and easy addition.  We decided we should put together some information for anyone who may be considering using fireworks as a proposal idea.

Legal

The very first thing you need to find out is if fireworks are legal in your neighborhood, city, county, or state.  This is where hiring a Proposal Expert is invaluable.   A Proposal Planner with a lot of experience will already know what cities are firework friendly and can save you a lot of time and headache.

Hire a Professional

You obviously don’t want Uncle Pete just lighting off fireworks when you propose.  You are going to want to hire a professional that knows exactly what they are doing.  You will want someone who is going to take safety in consideration and will protect you from a lawsuit.  Hiring a professional leads us to the next concern.

Cost

There are so many permits and different types of insurance needed to have a firework show and all of that means money.  A lot of professionals charge “minimums” as well which can set you back a few thousand dollars.

While fireworks can certainly create a fairytale proposal, you should only consider adding them if you have a lot of time to plan and a lot of cash.  If you need help with this daunting task, hire The Heart Bandits to create your own fireworks. We are experts at creating proposals and finding the perfect location for you to propose. We can tell you where to propose or help you with the proposal planning of your engagement. Don’t forget to purchase your low-profile engagement ring box from www.ringstash.com or risk your fireworks proposal from getting discovered too soon! Contact us today to get started on making your dream proposal come true.

Portland, Oregon is a city in the Pacific Northwest that is known as one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the world. It is also known for its ideal climate for roses, thus its name of “City of Roses”. Because of this, you can be sure that you would be able to find lots of places to create a romantic marriage proposal. With its lush natural landscape and many things to do in the city, here is our take on the best Portland Proposal Ideas.

Multnomah Falls

This place holds a special place in The Heart Bandits’ history because we helped plan Keith and Alyssa’s romantic Portland marriage proposal here. The location itself is simply magnificent, so if you couple that with a proposal, it will be utterly romantic. It is the tallest waterfall in the state and has a bridge that crosses between the upper and lower falls. It’s breathtaking and amazing.

Portland’s Rose Garden

Because the weather of Portland is ideal for roses, that makes this location the perfect place for the flower lover. It also has a lot of history because it is the oldest public gardens in the US. With about 10,000 roses here you can be sure to have a beautiful backdrop for you proposal.

Pittock Mansion

This mansion is a turn-of-the –century home in Portland that once belonged to a newspaper magnate. With beautiful grounds and tours, you can take your sweetie here for a nice day. Propose at one of the locations with views of the mountains.

Washington Park

At this location, you get to enjoy scenic views of Portland and beautiful gardens. It has a zoo, a Japanese garden, and extensive miles of trails. Take your partner on a hike here and propose while you are looking at the sunset.

Marriage Proposal in Santa Monica by The Heart Bandits

We are SO excited to share with you a unique marriage proposal that we helped plan last week. Marshall contacted The Heart Bandits Wedding Proposal Planners about a month ago and he needed help figuring out how he should propose to his girlfriend Melodie.  He knew he wanted it to be a surprise, but most importantly, he wanted it to include his 2 beautiful children.  We presented him many ways to include his children in the marriage proposal and he decided to go with this cute public proposal in Santa Monica.

santa monica pier marriage proposal

On an unsuspecting day, Melodie’s sister offered to take the kids out which gave Marshall the perfect chance to invite Melodie out for a day on the beach.  Melodie and Marshall hung out on Santa Monica beach and then at 5pm they headed down Santa Monica Pier.  Little did Melodie know, that on the end of the pier, her proposal was waiting.  As she got to the end of the pier, she saw a line of people holding roses and a helper holding a sign that said “Melodie”.  The helper asked Melodie to go through the line and as she did, strangers started handing her roses.  After they handed her a rose, they stepped off to the side.  The last strangers gave Melodie their roses and stepped to the side revealing her 2 children at the end of the line.  Melodie was overcome with emotion when she saw her babies holding roses and read their t-shirts that said, “Mommy, Will You Marry My Daddy?”  The whole proposal was caught on camera by Vaylia Photography.  Congrats Marshall and Melodie!  This is perfect inspiration for how to pop the question.
