This is how I carried the ring when I proposed to Michele. It’s not the most striking when you’re on bended knee, but that’s what makes the rest of the proposal more important. If you know that you can’t hide the box on you, then carrying the ring in your pocket is good. If you’re wearing jeans, then that little small pocket on your right front is perfect for concealing the ring.

Hidden in An Ornament

This one takes more thought and is also heavily dependent on your marriage proposal idea. You can do something like pretend to give her a nice book and the book itself can be hollowed out and have the ring inside. By doing something like this, you can carry around the book without fearing that she will suspect you will be proposing.

Go To A Local Art Show

Go online and do a search for local art shows or exhibits in your area and then make a date of it.  In Los Angeles, every second Thursday of the month they have a downtown art walk that is pretty cool.  You can look at art and then pop into a bar for some drinks.  Find one in your area!

Go To Open Mic Night

Find a place near your home that has an open mic night.  You can either be a spectator and just watch all the unique talent, or you can even get up there and give it a go yourself.  To add some romance to the date, write a poem and read it to your sweetie on stage. If you aren’t poetic, print out a poem that you think is relevant to your relationship and read it to her.

Have A Game Night

You don’t have to leave your house to have a good time!  Whip out some board games or cards and have a mellow game night.  Marvin and I do this now and then.  We play Monopoly and drink cocktails.  It’s fun!

As proposal planning experts, Michele and I have been traveling like crazy the last few weeks for marriage proposals and some vacation. But we wanted to makes sure that we posted a recent marriage proposal that we helped plan. Read all about this Romantic Marriage Proposal in Beverly Hills.

The Story

Chris came to us a few months back saying that he was going to be in town from out of the country and he wanted to do something to really surprise his girlfriend Melanie. He was going to be coming into town so they could celebrate their 2 year anniversary. He wanted to propose in a way that would be a complete surprise. The Proposal

The plan was to have Chris take Melanie to a restaurant called Crustacean in Beverly Hills that she always wanted to go to. We made dinner reservations for them and they had an amazing dinner (Garrett Davis Photography captured shots of them during dinner and the rest of the proposal). After dinner was over, Chris excused himself to the restroom. A short time later the waiter came by and told Melanie not to panic, but Chris was feeling sick and asked that the waiter come get her. She was then lead upstairs to a private room that was beautifully decorated with candles, flowers, and 5 promises written on signs from Chris to her. The promises were wrapped in green accents (her favorite color). There was an acoustic guitarist there playing “True” by Spandau Ballet which was their song. Melanie was emotional as she was reading the promises and being serenaded by the song. As she got to the last promise, Chris suddenly appeared in the room with the ring and proposed to her. Of course she said yes! They celebrated with green cake pops and champagne afterwards. Congratulations to Chris and Melanie!

Michele and I just came back from our amazing 1 Year Anniversary trip to Maui and it was just amazing. The island is very beautiful and you have no choice but to relax and enjoy the weather, beach, and island lifestyle. We are so excited to share this New York Proposal with you.  Ernest contacted The Heart Bandits with such a creative marriage proposal idea.  He saw an episode of “How I Met Your Mother” that featured mini-dates and he loved that concept.  He wanted to fuse that idea with some cheesy proposals since he is a jokester, and include details from their relationship.  Being from Canada, he knew he was going to need some help coordinating everything and turning his proposal dream into reality, so he called The Heart Bandits.

We got to work right away finding a rooftop that accommodate his unique proposal.  Next, we sought out to find a talented choreographer and two dancers that could not only dance the routine, but teach it to Ernest.  The proposal was amazing and all caught on camera by Paparazzi Proposals. Ernest and Su met at a nightclub.  The night they met Ernest and his friend were dancing their heart out to Justin Timberlake.  Su was expecting to dine at a “pop-up” restaurant in NYC on the night of her proposal, but instead she stepped on to the rooftop to find 2 men recreating the dance scene on the night they met.
Next, Ernest and Su went on 3 mini dates.  First they enjoyed sushi, then they watched a movie that they watched on their first date, then they came back to the same place they ate sushi  at and enjoyed some dessert.  Each date was 2 minutes long.

Ernest is a really funny guy so he wanted to fake Su out with some cheesy proposals.  At the dessert date, a waiter brought out a cheesecake that spelled out “Will You Marry Me”. Ernest sent it back and then he got down on one knee, looked up at Su, and then……….tied his shoe!  As the music changed Ernest got up and joined the dancers to perform a dance routine he had been practicing.  He proposed at the end of it.  It was such an awesome proposal and we were so glad to be a part of it.

I can tell you firsthand that I’m an awful dancer. When there’s any type of hip/hop, R&B, or top 40 hit on and my wife wants to dance with me, I usually get up there but I stick to my 2ft by 2ft square area and do my killer two-step.
