Post Hurricane Sandy Meaningful Date Ideas

First I want to say God Bless to all of those who were affected by Hurricane Sandy. You are in our prayers! This weekend, why not spend some quality time with your significant other making a difference to those that were impacted by the tragic storm. Here are some meaningful date ideas that you can do this weekend and really make a difference.

Give Blood

This probably doesn’t sound like a dream date to anyone, but remember, your goal here is to spend quality time with your partner doing something that counts. Because many blood drives were cancelled because of Sandy, blood supplies are low in the areas affected the most. Call Red Cross to make an appointment.

Donate

Spend some time with your partner and go over your finances and see how much you can donate. Go to www.redcross.org and your donations will help provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to those affected by the storm. Enjoy a home cooked meal that evening knowing that you made a contribution together.

Volunteer

If you are on the East Coast, The Salvation Army has dozens of mobile feeding units and shelters that are working to serve thousands in the most heavily hit areas. If you aren’t in an affected area, call your local Red Cross and find out how you can help.

If you want to have a meaningful date with your partner, then we can help. The Heart Bandits are Romance Experts that can give you great date ideas and advice to fit any situation. We have helped countless couples with amazing date, proposal ideas and planning, and lots more. Contact us today to get started.

Proposal Ideas Fit For a Princess

Today it has been announced that Princess Madeleine and her British-American boyfriend Christopher O’Neill have announced their engagement.  Now I may not be a Princess, but I certainly am treated like one by my husband Marvin.  If you are dating someone who is your princess and you are getting ready to propose, check out these pictures and use them as inspiration for a proposal idea.

A violinist is great for your princess, an orchestra would be even more impressive.

When proposing to your princess make sure the first thing you do is come up with an amazing proposal concept.  After you have an idea you love, focus on the proposal destination.  Will you propose somewhere far, far way like in a fairytale?  Will you propose somewhere romantic an lavish near home?  Once you have the location you can coordiate all the details of your proposal.  If you need a little help, hire The Heart Bandits as your Proposal Planners.

Engagement Ideas for the Halloween Lover

Halloween-Proposal-Ideas-The-Heart-Bandits

Halloween is a VERY fun time for couples because of all that is going on. Who doesn’t enjoy dressing up in an outfit and having fun? Being in this proposal planning industry for several years now we’ve noticed that there are lots of people that love to propose marriage during Halloween. At first this seemed odd to me, but it made sense afterwards because some couples just love the excitement and fun that comes from this time of year. For those people that are into it, today we are going to offer Engagement Ideas for the Halloween Lover.

Cornfield Maze

Michele and I went to Sacramento this past weekend and we actually passed several of these mazes on our trip. It occurred to me that these would be really good places to propose. The reason being with all the twists and turns you can add pieces of your relationship to make solving the maze more fun. It would be like a scavenger hunt but all in one place.

Haunted Mansion

This one is for the person that loves scary movies. The way that you can make it work perfectly is to integrate scary elements but then turn it around and make it into a romantic atmosphere. In other words, you take your girlfriend to a scary mansion, have fun during the scary points, and then have a final reveal that is in romantic room or a romantic setting outside. Just please do not try to frighten her after you propose by putting something inside the ring box.

Pumpkin Field

This is more for the wholesome person that loves good natured Halloween elements. This proposal idea is similar to the one that Michele described in her How to Propose on Halloween tips but instead of finding something at the pumpkin field, you make the entire pumpkin field the proposal. You can arrange all the pumpkins together to spell out your proposal and light them all up with bright lanterns. Take your girlfriend up to a high location where you will propose. Make sure that you include other elements around it to add to the anticipation.

Costume Flash Mob

Everybody that was a kid in the 1980’s saw Michael Jackson’s Thriller video and thought that was the coolest thing ever. What that video had was lots of people dressed up as zombies and monsters doing choreographed dance numbers. That type of setup would be perfect for a Halloween proposal if you setup a flash mob to surprise your girlfriend. If she loved the Thriller video, it will be even better.

If you’re thinking about proposing during Halloween, you cannot go wrong with choosing The Heart Bandits Proposal Ideas. We are experts in the field in marriage proposals and can help you with creating a proposal that is perfect for your relationship. Contact us today to get started.

Surprise Marriage Proposal for a Woman Who Loves Ballet

Every time I tell the story of this surprise ballerina proposal, I get all choked up. Jorge contacted us and told us that when his girlfriend Sarah was young she was a ballet dancer. She was on track to go professional but unfortunately due to an injury she had to give up that dream. Sarah always loved ballet and to this day in her room there are ballet pictures all over. Another thing that was very important to Sarah was her childhood french poodle. Jorge knew he wanted to incorporate those things into his emotional surprise marriage proposal but he came to The Heart Bandits to help propose.

Sarah and Jorge were visiting Disneyland for her birthday and Jorge rented a town car that evening to have them taken to dinner. On the way to dinner, the town car made a pit stop at this beautiful gazebo. As Sarah and Jorge approached the gazebo, Sarah was in complete shock to see a string duo performing her favorite Josh Grobin song and a beautiful ballerina dancing by herself. Sarah and Jorge took a seat and Sarah just watched in awe. Sarah noticed all the details, especially the sign hanging from the gazebo that said “Our Corner”. When Sarah and Jorge have deep, meaningful conversations, they call that meeting in”Our Corner”.

In the middle of the song, Sarah was surprised to see 4 tiny ballerinas to come down a pathway holding pink ribbons in their hands. They danced their way over to Sarah and one by one, each handed her a ribbon that said memorable things on them. The last ribbon said, “There is only one question left to ask you in our corner.” The final surprise came to Sarah when the main ballerina handed her a stuffed french white poodle that was wearing a pink collar. When Sarah took off the collar, it revealed Jorge’s proposal. She said yes and it was such an amazing proposal! Dancers were provided from Tracey Dee Academy of Dance.

Hire The Heart Bandits if you need a unique and custom proposal idea or if you need us to bring your proposal to life because you are too busy or visiting from out of town.

Tips For Men – The Ultimate Romantic Date (Guest Blog)

Men can be terrified by the idea of romance. But not for the reason most people think. A lot of men like the idea of candlelit dinners and sunset picnics in the park. It’s the idea of planning these romantic get-togethers that makes men so reluctant. Having to think of what their other half will and won’t like, what will make their eyes light up with excitement and what will make them roll with disappointment, is what piles the pressure on men. Not to worry though, because The Heart Bandits have compiled the three, tried and tested classics that, when combined, will help men to pull off the ultimate romantic date.
Candlelit dinner

Candlelit Dinner

In the introduction, I mentioned the idea of a candlelit dinner. This dependable classic is a great way to show your partner that you are really making an effort to give them some romance. Pick an overtly romantic setting in advance; perhaps a nice, classy restaurant, set in beautiful, eye-catching surroundings; something that will really wow them. One of the best ways to create romance is with the element of surprise. If you don’t tell them what you’re doing or where you’re going to be going it builds suspense, so that when you finally do reveal your romantic surprise to them, they are shocked and delighted all the more.

Whisk Them Away

Candlelit dinners are all well and good, but against the backdrop of bleak, drizzly rain they can sometimes lose a little sparkle. Which is exactly why surprising your partner with a romantic trip away to sunnier climates can provide the perfect environment for the ultimate date. Taking the initiative and spontaneously whisking them away is a great way to inject some romance into your lives. As we’re sticking with the classic moves, why not stick with the classic romance hot spots? Paris and Venice are all fantastic destinations to whisk your partner away and create the perfect location for the most special and memorable date.

Recreate Your First Date

Recreating your first date is a great way to add a personal touch and show your partner how much they have meant to you from the very beginning. Obviously, you cannot recreate everything; your first date might not have even been that romantic anyway. But you can create a similar atmosphere to that of your first date. Playing the same music, recreating memorable moments or simply reminiscing can be a fantastic bonding experience for the two of you. Showing that you distinctly remember romantic elements of your first encounter and that it felt significant to you will display to your partner how much you care.

By themselves, these date ideas are great and almost guaranteed to re-light or enhance the love in any relationship. A combination of these however, would certainly create the ultimate romantic date. Take these tips on board and provide your partner with an experience she will never forget. Don’t panic about whether things may go wrong, enjoy the moment with her and remember those little mistakes may make for a uniquely entertaining evening you can look back on and take humor in for years to come!

This blog was written by Alexandra, a keen traveler and blogger who specializes in giving top dating tips. If you feel interested in whisking your partner away, she writes this on behalf of SkyParkSecure, who provide high quality, cheap airport parking all over the UK.

Free Date Ideas To Go On Before It Gets Too Cold

I heard a cute saying the other day, “If it’s free, it’s for me!”  That is my inspiration for writing today’s blog.  Every Wednesday we give tips on how to be romantic or date ideas.  Today, I want to share with you 4 free date ideas you can do before it gets too cold.

Stargazing

If you live in Los Angeles like Marvin and I, then you are probably free to go stargazing all year.  But for those of you who live in cities that get cold, you better enjoy it now.  Go online and print out some constellations and then go for a walk or sit on a blanket and find them together.

Farmers Market

This date idea is only free if you don’t buy something but no one says you have to!  Discover fruits you have never heard of and smell some fresh flowers.  Most Farmers Markets have free food samples too.

Bike Ride

Fall is the perfect time for a bike ride.  You can ride through a park and see all the gorgeous trees that have changed color.  Pack a couple of sandwiches and enjoy some lunch and then ride home.

Go For A Test Drive

Take your date to a car dealership and drive cars you can’t afford for fun.

When you have been dating for a while, it can get really hard to come up with new and creative date ideas.  The Heart Bandits are romantic date planners who specialize in creating special and unique dates for events like your first date, your anniversary, or your significant other’s birthday.  Contact us today to find out how we can help you.

How To Propose On Halloween – Non-Cheesy Ideas

Halloween is quickly approaching and Marvin and I don’t even have costumes yet!  AGHHHHHHHHH!  But enough about us, let’s talk about you.  You plan on proposing this Halloween but you don’t want it to be cheesy right?  Carving “will you marry me“ in to a pumpkin is not good enough for your partner?  When you think about Halloween, the first thing that comes to your mind is probably not a marriage proposal.  But with the right Halloween proposal idea, it could be really unique.  And since you found this article, you must at least be considering proposing on Halloween.  So we put together some non-cheesy proposal ideas if you are wondering how to propose on Halloween.

Flash Mob

An awesome halloween proposal idea is to enlist the help of a Flash Mob!  While you are out walking on the streets, a Flash Mob begins.  It could start off to the song Thriller and all the goons and goblins come out one by one to dance.  Then, towards the end of the routine, the song switches to a romantic song.  The dancers pull you and your partner in and you propose.  Expert tip: It would be even extra awesome if she was with a friend when the flash mob occurs and you reveal yourself as one of the dancers that was performing for her the whole time.  You propose with the perfect Halloween flash mob proposal idea.  We plan flash mobs in cities across the U.S. if you need assistance.

haunted house

Haunted House

You tell your partner that you got tickets to a haunted house.  When she walks into the house she sees that it is lit with hundreds of candles and is not scary but really romantic.  There are photos of you and her together illuminated by candlelight. You propose.  Expert tip: To pull off this idea, you can hire a Proposal Planner to help you find a haunted house or we can make one at any house!

Hayride

While we don’t recommend proposing on the hayride itself, it can be something very “halloweeny” to incorporate into your marriage proposal.  She will think it is part of some tour, but the hayride instead drops you off at a really romantic location for your proposal.

Pumpkin Patch

Take your honey to a pumpkin patch.  Arrange with the pumpkin patch to allow you to come in early and hide love notes throughout an area.  When your partner walks over to this area, they will be so surprised at the amount of effort you put in ahead of time.  A final note they find asks them to marry you.  You propose as a hidden photographer captures it all.  This could be a really romantic proposal idea if you really personalize it.  Expert tip: We can handwrite the notes and place them in the patch for you if you won’t have time to visit in advance.

Stay at Home

Tell your girlfriend that you want to stay at home and hand out candy.  Decorate the house in candles.  Arrange for a group of kids to have a special knock.  When they knock at the door, you tell her to get it.  When she opens the door the kids hold up a sign that says “Will You Marry Me?”.  You propose with a true Halloween proposal.

Halloween Party Ruse

A Halloween party is the perfect lead in to a proposal.  Tell them you are taking them to a Halloween party but really take them to a venue you rented out.  When they walked in, they are totally stunned to find a proposal waiting for them instead of a halloween party.  The ultimate trick or treat!

candles on hill

The Old Switcheroo

You tell your partner you are driving to a Halloween activity.  It could be a party, a haunted house, trick or treating, anything!  Instead, you pull up to a very gorgeous area with a view where you have candles and blankets set up.  On Halloween, there wouldn’t really be anyone up there, most people will be at parties and celebrating.  Propose and then surprise her with her favorite Halloween treats.  Expert tip: We can do the proposal set up for you and help you find the perfect proposal location.

These are all proposal ideas to get your mind started.  If you need some help finalizing the proposal concepts or bringing them to life, contact The Heart Bandits to get started.  We arrange custom marriage proposals all around the globe and have been featured in the NY Times, Huffington Post, NBC, and so much more.  We know just how to propose on Halloween or any other day!

Surprise Proposal in Mexico

Last month we received an email from Antonio who was about to take a vacation with his girlfriend Liz to beautiful Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. He didn’t want to lose the opportunity of being in such a beautiful location without proposing to her so he needed an proposal ideas from The Heart Bandits to make sure that it went amazing.  Read all about this Surprise Proposal in Mexico.

The Proposal Idea

One thing that stood out to us is that Antonio and Liz are HUGE salsa fans and especially love the music of Marc Anthony. Also, Antonio would tease Liz that when they first met that she almost gave him away to one of her friends but then they danced together and they knew they were met for each other. We knew we had to incorporate those things into their proposal.

The Proposal

The first night of their arrival to Playa Del Carmen, Antonio asked Liz to go for a walk on the beach. They walked to a private area and Liz was surprised to see that there was a romantic table for two setup for them. That in of itself was a nice surprise for her but it didn’t stop there. As they were eating, a stranger walked by and started singing a Marc Anthony song that they loved called “Volando entre tus brazos”. A second person then appeared and joined in on the song, then a third person. Liz didn’t know what was going out but was enjoying the time. The singers then unrolled a banner that said “Aren’t you glad you didn’t give him away?” in reference to what Antonio would tease her about. At that moment, Antonio got down on one knee and proposed to her. She of course said yes!

The surprises didn’t stop there though. Five minutes after their special moment a Spanish guitarist came in and started playing a Marc Anthony salsa song. Immediately after, two dancers followed him and performed a salsa dance routine in front of them. After the song ended, a complete salsa band appeared, congratulated the newly engaged couple, and started playing salsa privately for them. The danced the night away to their favorite music doing what they love to do. It was the perfect ending to the perfect night for them. Congrats to Antonio and Liz! Check out their pictures below. Interactive Theater Proposal

After you purchase this proposal you get a phone call telling you where the live-theater mission begins, a location in New York. You and your partner solve clues and encounter hilarious characters as you play a part in a meticulously crafted criminal plot. The interactive play takes you to bars, restaurants, and other unique locations. During the final scene, along with the regularly staged surprise ending, your proposal is incorporated into the show. How exciting and unique is this? Clients love this unique marriage proposal because it really gives the surprise factor.

Art Studio Proposal

You and your partner arrive at an art studio that is completely private. The studio is candlelit, decorated in rose petals, and the music of your choice is playing in the background. You sip wine as you are guided through a step-by-step artistic process of painting on canvases.
