You’re in love, more than you have ever been before, and you’ve realized that this is the girl of your dreams. The time is finally right to ask for her hand- and that means now!  But what are you going to do about your marriage proposal?  A last-minute proposal is certainly not ideal.  However, if you insist, here are a few important things to keep in mind if you’re trying to pull off a proposal with little time to spare.

Make a Game Plan

When things get complicated- when you’re short on time or money, or when things don’t go as expected- the best thing you can do is make a clear plan, and follow it. A detailed checklist of what you need to accomplish for your proposal is going to be a valuable asset, and it should allow you to prioritize well. For instance, locking in your chosen venue should go first on the list, both because they tend to get reserved early, and also because the place is going to be the foundation for the rest of your plans.

Stay Flexible

Even though you need to create a plan and try to stick with it, that doesn’t mean you should be fixated on your original plans. Roll with the punches, and if something needs to change, reevaluate and alter your plan accordingly. When you’re short on time, you have to be willing to make some concessions, and staying organized will help keep track of what you need to do as things develop.

Be Prepared to Pay

When you have the luxury of planning weeks or months ahead of time, you can bargain shop. Making early reservations, buying things or hiring services in the off-season, and shopping around between different vendors can all save you money, but they’re all off the table if you’re set on proposing quickly. Be prepared for the price differential.

Hire a Helping Hand

A proposal takes a lot of work, and if you’re planning on getting it all done quickly, you’re going to need help. A qualified Proposal Planner is going to be your best ally, since they have the knowledge and the network to get things done posthaste.

Push it Back

If you’ve tried, but things are just not working, don’t be afraid to push the proposal back. It may seem like now is the only time that will ever be this perfect, but trust us- a beautifully executed proposal at a less-than-perfect moment will have more impact and be more meaningful than a thrown-together proposal at a better time.
