Diego and Leny have such a fascinating story. They met in 9th grade in their hometown of Monterrey. They dated briefly then but as the two grew up, their lives took separate paths and they both went on to live their own lives. They never did stop thinking of each other but it just was never the right timing for either of them. Several years later things took a turn in 2013 when they finally reconnected and the couple has been inseparable ever since. Diego was so passionate when telling us his love story that we decided to use that as the concept.
Creating this Chicago rooftop proposal was so much fun. We had blown up animated drawings framed and displayed to outline the love story of Diego and Leny. The story told of the couple talking long-distance via ICQ and WhatsApp, their first date, and their travel adventures.
A violinist played romantic music as Leny walked out on the rooftop and saw her dream proposal right before her eyes. Diego walked her to each frame and then finally, to the last one. The last image showed Diego proposing and Diego dropped down to his knee right there.
The backdrop of the city couldn’t have been more amazing. Leny said yes and then the couple went inside to celebrate with friends and family!
