This proposal was soooo much fun or us to plan, I can’t wait to share it with you!  As you probably know, some clients come to us with no clue about how they want to propose.  Others come to us knowing how they want to propose but they need help with the planning.  Abraham definitely falls into the second category.  He knew EXACTLY how he wanted to propose, but being from Mexico, he needed some help planning all of the logistics in New York City.

His girlfriend Elisa is an artist and she was actually visiting New York City in hopes to have some art studios display her work.  So we arranged a “meeting” between her and the owner of an art gallery in Manhattan so that they could discuss carrying her art going forward.

Abraham and Elisa arrived at the art gallery and the owner immediately approached Elisa to talk “business.”  Of course, this was all just a ploy to get her into the gallery for her proposal.  After they chatted briefly, the owner invited the couple to look around at the current exhibit.  She poured them a glass of wine and they went on their way to enjoy the art with the other patrons in the gallery. Little did Elisa know, every single person in the gallery was an actor planted there to make the gallery seem like it wasn’t rented out just for her.

Abraham eventually lead her over to an area that had one piece of artwork covered in fabric, framed by Elisa’s favorite flowers.

He revealed the artwork behind it and to her surprise, it was a canvas that said, “Cásate conmigo” which means “Marry Me” in Spanish.

Abraham, much too cool for traditions, did not drop to his knee but did ask Elisa to marry him and she said yes!  Just as she did, a mariachi band came out to surprise her.
