This is one of my favorite proposals to date.  Eric, the proposer, is such a sweet and genuine person and his story is one that calls for a box of tissues.  Eric met Christina when he worked at the Apple Store at the Genius Bar.  Christina came in one day to get her iMac fixed and Eric was her technician.  Fortunately for Eric, she had to come back a couple of times and Christina actually gave Eric her phone number.

5 years in to their relationship, Eric knew he wanted to propose. But he wanted it to be something really special. In his words, he wanted “it to be more then dropping by a mall, buying a ring, and heading to the beach. Something that required a bit more time and effort.”  Smart guy, huh?  He searched and searched for the perfect gesture and one day they stumbled upon an ancient Japanese legend that promises anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane.  He looked at her at the time and said “I’ll fold a thousand cranes for you!”, “sure you will” she said with incredible disbelief.  A few days later he started folding the cranes which, to his surprise, took three and a half years.  When he was finished, he came to us to bring his proposal idea to life.

We rented out a hip loft in downtown LA where we would hang the 1,000 cranes from the ceiling.  We brought in a professional lighting company to make sure the cranes looked amazing in the evening.  Eric got all of their friends and family in on the ruse that an app his friend made was being sponsored by Apple.   Christina thought she was attending a black tie affair in celebration of this occasion, but when she walked in to the loft, she got the surprise of her life.  Much to her amazement were 1,000 cranes hanging, folded by the man of her dreams in a dapper tuxedo, who then asked for her hand in marriage.

She couldn’t help but be blown away by the details!  Eric had a genius bar custom made for her to represent how they first met.  He also created a custom Apple theme menu with cocktails such as the “iPod classic.”  And each table was adorned with rose petals and candles.

When the guests arrived they were treated to a fun and hip taco bar by Project Taco.  A DJ played music and the couple danced the night away with the friends and family they loved the most.  We are so honored to have been a part of such a special day for such a sweet couple.  Congrats Eric and Christina, we wish you a lifetime of happiness.
